Museum of Natural History and Archaeology ((ノルウェー語:Vitenskapsmuseet)) is a division of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway with collections and displays related to natural history and cultural history. The archaeological displays feature finds from the stone, bronze, iron and viking ages. A separate exhibit presents the development of Trondheim as a city in the middle ages, Sami culture, as well as church art and inventory up to and including 1700. The natural science exhibits include birds, fish, mammals, insects, minerals from Northern Europe. The museum dates back to 1767 when the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters (DKNVS) was officially founded. They created their own collections, and soon the museum became their main task. DKNVS Museum was official created in 1926 as a separate unit. In 1968 the museum became part of the new University of Trondheim (UNIT) that is now NTNU. ==External links==
